Virgin Media Bundles
Virgin Media was the first UK telecommunications company to offer the full range of media services, that is TV, fixed
line phone, mobile phone and broadband. And because Virgin Media can provide all four media options it has naturally
developed a number of bundle packages designed to allow customers to combine two or more of these services
together. In fact, as a cable digital TV provider, Virgin Media's services incorporate a certain level of bundling from the outset. To get Virgin TV, customers must also sign up to a Virgin phone package. So the most basic Virgin Media package includes two options bundled together right from the start.
About Virgin Media BundlesAs mentioned in earlier sections, Virgin Media's TV offering comes in three options. Classed by 'size', Virgin digital cable television is available in 'M', 'L' and 'XL' packages. Each package must be taken with at least the basic Virgin phone deal, known as its 'M' phone package. For this customers get completely free weekend calls and weekday calls at a rate of 3.25p per minute. In addition, customers on this particular Virgin phone deal also get the 'M' package TV option for no further cost.Details on the channels offered in each of the three Virgin digital TV packages can be found by clicking on the Virgin Media page of this website. The bundle packages described above can be viewed as Virgin Media's generic bundle offering. However, Virgin also offers a number of bespoke bundle deals for customers. The 'entry' level bespoke bundle package costs just £20 per month and combines the 'M' class Virgin phone deal with the 'L' class TV package. For the same price customers can opt to take a more basic TV service but with the addition of broadband. This package is essentially a two product bundle of phone and broadband with the add-on of Virgin's Free TV service (as described on the Virgin Media page of this website). For £5 more, customers can opt to bundle 'L' level Virgin digital TV with 'M' level Virgin broadband. This package costs £25 per month and is Virgin's cheapest bundle that includes both the TV and broadband options. For a monthly fee of £19, Virgin Media customers can get the triple-header deal of TV, phone and broadband. In the package Virgin supplies its top standard TV service, the 'XL', along with the 'M' class product for both its phone and broadband services. The next bundle package up costs £31 per month. It incorporates all of the services in the triple deal with the addition of Virgin Mobile. With this deal customers get entry level fixed-line phone and broadband services with top package TV services and 300 texts and 300 minutes a month to use on any mobile network, any time. Finally, Virgin offers two premium bundle deals. The first is called the VIP package. It costs £70 per month and includes: TV Size: XL, V+ HD set-top box, an additional V set-top box, broadband Size: XL, phone Size: XL, Talk International, Talk Mobile and Sky Sports and Sky Movies. The second is called VIP Complete. This is Virgin's ultimate media bundle. It includes: (all of the VIP services) + Virgin Mobile, Pay Monthly Mobile, any handset from Virgin Mobile's range, 500 texts, 500 minutes and a VIP bonus - £60 free airtime voucher. Described by Virgin Media as the 'works', this package incorporates the very best of Virgin TV, phone, broadband and mobile for just £110 per month. |
