Virgin Media V+
Virgin Media TV's V+ service offers similar features to that of Sky+. With a V+ set top box you have the power to
pause, rewind and record live TV. The V+ service enables the viewer to record up to two programmes while watching a
third and there is no need to fork out for recordable DVDs or tapes, the box has the capacity to record up to 80
hours of your favourite programmes straight onto its hard drive.
Therefore, with V+ you will never miss that crucial part of a drama or your favourite bit of a film again. Simply
pause the live feed if you want to nip to the loo and start again from where you left it on your return to the TV or
even record the programme.
What is more, the cleaver V+ box is also HD ready. So if you have a HD television you can enjoy the benefits of high
definition viewing with your V+ box.
To get a V+ box customers must sign up to a 12-month Virgin Media package with V+ service deal, pay a one-off fee of
£150 for installation and, depending on which viewing package is taken, a monthly subscription fee. Customers opting
for Virgin's 'M' or 'L' TV packages pay just £5 per month, while those on the top package, 'XL', pay nothing extra.
That is it. There are no extra fees for the box itself. So to upgrade to V+ it costs £150 plus £5 per month or just
£150 for 'XL' TV package holders. (Remember the basic TV package monthly subscription price also applies, so for
example 'XL' customers getting the upgrade without an additional monthly fee are already paying £20.50 per month for
their 'XL' package).
